My method for mixed media drawings is:

Dream up a fascinating woman. Draw her as quickly as possible, using the most free and expressive lines. My line quality is what makes the drawing engaging and the lines convey the inner spirit of the subject.  Add mood with additional color mediums (pastel, watercolor, etc.)

 

My method for assemblages is : Collect objects that draw me in. Leave them sitting around. They inform me of the obvious juxtaposition. I usually add some wild linework in ink or paint. There may be a theme, but most often it is a dream, a fancy that becomes believable.
