Bookbinding I: The Pamphlet Stitch
This one-day introductory class will familiarize you with the basic materials (paper, cloth, board and adhesives) and techniques (folding, sewing and gluing) of bookbinding. We will make 3 different books using the pamphlet binding technique, a simple enclosure, a multi-section book, and a clothbound book. These books can become great journals, sketchbooks and albums.
 This workshop is especially designed for beginners.  All materials will be provided.

Window Dressing II

Oualie Art is pleased to present Resistencia/Resistance featuring Adrienne Wheeler in the second installment of the site-specific window installation series Window Dressing.  Adrienne Wheeler is a self-taught visual artist whose work is steeped in African ancestral and spiritual practices, primarily Bakongo.
She combines sticks, leaves, feather and shells among other materials
to make “Nkisi” (sacred medicine),in order to facilitate individual, communal and societal healing.
